Comstock ISD took the Academic UIL District competition by storm in Rankin on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Twenty three students attended the District Meet, competing in Accounting, Current Issues and Events, Journalism (Editorial, Feature, Headline, and News Writing), Mathematics, Number Sense, Ready Writing, Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), and Social Studies.
In order to advance to regional competition, competing students must place first, second, or third place, or be part of a first place team in their selected event. While the requirements are slightly different for every event, this is generally the case. Fourth place competitors are often considered the “alternate” and are permitted to attend, but may or may not compete at regional competition. Students in bold below will be attending regionals.
