Hello, Freshmen!! I hope everyone has stayed safe and healthy during this extended break! What an interesting introduction to high school life y’all have received! WOW!! But no big deal-- we will march on ahead and get this year completed! :)
All classwork will be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org just like we have done throughout the year.
Things to remember-- THINK CRITICALLY. DIG. ANALYZE. Find interesting angles to the topic before writing. These assignments are not about filling pages and getting work over with-- it is about developing who you are by understanding what you believe to be true and discovering your ability and right to form opinions and intelligently express them. In this class, there aren’t ever any wrong answers or wrong views. Why? Because you will explain why you stand for what you do. It’s that easy. But more importantly, it’s about YOU becoming a confident and brilliant YOU! :)
Also, remember, GRAMMARLY is your friend!

MAY THE 4th BE WITH YOU! 😊
Return to 75 quote document and find one that speaks to you about your personal growth this school year. This is a personal essay- not deep dark secrets- just impacting you- opening your eyes to your growth. 😊
Specifically think about your writing ability, ease w topic development, creating connecting images that draw the readers in, choosing words carefully to present the exact image you want. Getting the reader to see your side, connect to your side. Discovery of personal views, prejudices stereotypes you may have let go. Confidence you feel in academics- and how it all applies to other aspects of life and communicating with others. Empathy (understanding and accepting of others, placing ourselves in their shoes to better understand and reach out).
These are suggestions- if you use them, DEVELOP them to make them meaningful and personal.
#2- 2-page essay. Make sure you make it about you and make sure you analyze a few points- no laundry lists!
Y'all have been doing great work!! Keep it up!
